Since last year, Rare Bear has been purchased and completely rebuilt by it's new owner, Rod Lewis. The crew put in their usual over the top, midnight oil burning effort to prepare the plane. Although they qualified second at 452 mph, something obviously wasn't right. Be that as it may, somehow they found another 26 mph and won the Gold going away at 478. Congratulations to all the Bear crew, you guys really earned your keep this year.
